So, you ended up with no access to your bank account, Google account or eBay account and you don't know why?

If you are using Internet Explorer, you are highly likely that your installation is broken and you will have to refresh some files.

Every website secured with SSL requires a special selection of features installed on your system. If some important files are missing or broken, you won't be able to access and open any https:// website.

Here's what to do to refresh i.e. re-register your Internet Explorer Files to make it work again:

  1. Go to the Start Menu → Select Run
  2. Type cmd
  3. Type "%ProgramFiles%"\Internet Explorer\iexplorer.exe /rereg OR Select Start → Run → Type "regsvr32 softpub.dll" (without quotes) and wait for the OK message; then try again.
  4. If you don't have this file, go to dsvs.org to download it
  5. Be sure to remove all cookies, plugins that seem broken, and to restore default privacy settings in Internet Explorer

Sometimes broken installation may be result of a virus or spyware. Please try the Windows anti-spyware utility before attempting to restore IE files - this will try to restore Internet Explorer settings, and fix any related issues it may find.

Do avoid delay while detecting your problem, make sure to turn off the firewall facility. This may block some websites and this may be the actual reason you can't access them.
