Norton 360 Support - Configure Startup Manager

Norton 360 Start-up Manager allows you to freely turn on and off applications that are run at the system startup. This can help you tweak your core Windows startup configuration in order to achieve better performance and shorter Windows boot times.

The vast majority of applications do not really require to be run at the system startup. In fact, they only slow down your system unnecessarily and it is absolutely safe to turn them off.

Norton 360 Startup Manager has the following options you can configure:

Program Name

This helps you to identify the programme you wish to configure. This list includes all programmes that are run at the startup. This field also includes detailed description, and vendor name - you can access this information by double-clicking the program name.

Publisher

Identify the vendor of an application using this information.

Performance Impact

This information is useful when establishing the actual performance impact of an application on your system. This can help you decide what programme is to be switched off to achieve best results.

On/Off

This list indicates what programmes are turned on or turned off.

Delay Start

Select an item from the list to make its start delayed. This means, that application will be run at the startup, but its launch will be deferred to shorten boot time.

It is safe to turn programmes off, since they will not vanish from the list and they can be turned on again at any time. You can also run them manually as needed.
