Norton Smart Firewall included in Norton 360 controls inbound and outbound traffic to and from your computer. All communications to the Internet are monitored and only legitimate traffic is passed through, while unknown and possibly harmful transmissions are blocked.

Norton Smart Firewall secures your PC from common security problems such as port scans, intrusion attempts and spyware. 

Any unauthorised traffic is blocked automatically, ensuring that no private data is being leaked. Blocking illegitimate traffic can also stop hackers from breaking into your computer while you connect to the Internet.

To avoid these security problems, make sure your Norton Smart Firewall is turned on at all times. Norton 360 will inform you if for some reason Smart Firewall is switched off, so that you can turn it back on.
