Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 shows "PDM:Trojan.Win32.Generic.wcd". Is this a false-positive?

Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 is known for a minor error that falsely identifies a threat where there is no threat called PDM:Trojan.Win32.Generic.wcd on your system. In this KIS support topic we're explaining how to remove the false-positive report from your Quarantine items list.

The PDM:Trojan.Win32.Generic.wcd is reported in your "Detected threats" window but you can safely ignore the message because it's known as a false-positive.

To permanently remove this misreport from your security reports do the following:

  1. Open Kaspersky Main Window and click the Quarantine box in the upper area of the window.
  2. In the Protection state window that pops up, switch to the Detected threats tab and select all from the drop-down list.
  3. The list of quarantined items will show up. Select the PDM:Trojan.Win32.Generic.wcd identified as "unknown threat", right click this item and select the delete or clear from list option.
  4. Confirm your selection by clicking Yes in the pop-up window.
