How to Cancel Norton Account and not Renew Subscription Automatically
If you're Norton user you also have a Norton Account at Symantec that stores your orders' history and product keys. However, Norton Account also ensures that your subscription is automatically renewed when it's due for renewal and the user is automatically charged with a renewal amount for the next year.
This has been designed to ensure uninterrupted service and updates, but what to do if you want to cancel the account and don't want to use Norton any more?
Luckily, there's a way to avoid being automatically charged when your subscription expires. You can also claim refund if you've been charged against your will.
How to Get your Money Refunded
In order to get your money refunded, you can use the Norton Automatic Renewal Service Cancellation Form or contact Norton Live Agent either via the in-program chat or telephone. Remember to have all your details at hand, including Product Activation Key and Product Serial Number.
The online cancellation form usually takes 3 days to be processed, so typically it's quicker to close your account and get a refund when you contact them by phone or chat.
How to Stop Being Charged Automatically
You can also ask the operator to disable automatic billing on your account even if your subscription is still valid. In this case they will remove credit card information and you won't be charged for the service when it's due for renewal.
