How to activate Norton security software

In this quick tutorial we're explaining how to activate your Norton product. You can activate Norton automatically during the installation or manually at any time later on.

Activating your Norton installation ensures continuous updates of your virus database via the LiveUpdate facility and entitles you to get free programme upgrades during your subscription period.

Usually, Norton activation is being conducted automatically during the installation process, so that there's no need to activate manually. However, if you weren't connected to the Internet at the installation time, you might want to activate Norton manually.

Please note, that you must activate within the specified period of time after installation, otherwise your Norton software will stop working.

Norton will prompt you once in a while to activate the software by displaying a notification window. You can activate directly from the window using the link provided.

You can also activate Norton manually at any time by following these steps:

1. Open Norton main window
2. Click My Account
3. Click Activate Norton
4. Follow the on-screen instructions
5. Once Norton is activated click Done

During activation you will be asked to create a Norton Account. Norton Account is an online service that enables you to keep track of all your subscriptions and purchased products. It will also hold all your serial keys in case you lose them and need to re-install Norton. A working email address along with the password is required to setup a new Norton Account.
