How to remove Norton Toolbar from Firefox and Internet Explorer

In this short tutorial we are showing Norton Toolbar users how to disable and remove it from Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer.

If you no longer need Norton Toolbar for whatever reason, you can disable and remove it at any time from your browser. Simply follow the steps below to remote Norton Toolbar permanently.

In Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Open the Add-Ons management window by selecting Tools > Add-ons > Extensions or pressing Ctrl+Shift+A.
  2. Select the Norton Toolbar add-on and press the Uninstall button.
  3. Restart Firefox for the changes to take effect.
  4. If the Uninstall button is disabled, try restarting Firefox in the Safe Mode. Sometimes Firefox locks this option for security reasons.

In Internet Explorer:

  1. Open the Tools > Manage Add-Ons menu.
  2. Scroll down the window to find the Norton Toolbar extension in the Symantec Corporation section.
  3. Select Norton Toolbar by left-clicking it and press Disable button underneath.
  4. Disable any related extensions as well when prompted.
  5. Close the Extensions window and Restart Internet Explorer.

You're done. Norton Toolbar is now permanently removed from your browser. However, you can still re-enable this extension at any time as it will be visible in the extensions menu of your Web browser.
